About

Molly Moon Neitzel developed a passion for making ice cream during her college gig at The Big Dipper a scoop shop, and Missoula, MT institution. Her boss Charlie was thoroughly impressed with the rising star's talent and decided to teach her everything he knew about making ice cream.

Between first learning to combine creamy, organic dairy with sweet, local ingredients and today, Molly has had an adventurous career. After graduating from college, Molly combined her first loves of music and politics, as executive director of Music for America, a non-profit organization that partnered with bands to mobilize their fans to vote.

While living like a "rock star with a cause" seemed ideal, Molly was often intrigued with the notion of going back to "scooping". Following the 2006 elections, she decided to set aside the politicking, jump off the tour bus, and head to Seattle with recipes for her delicious ice cream in hand.

Aiming to give the people of Seattle what they are missing most, she created Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream, a great neighborhood hang-out where families, kids, hipsters, and ice cream addicts alike can congregate and celebrate their favorite dessert.

Molly Moon's is soon-to-be Seattle's premier community gathering place and a location for new family traditions. Our ice cream, made from local and organic ingredients, is the kind of sweet, creamy satisfaction that one craves whether they're two or eighty two. And, like the eclectic neighborhood we're settled in, our shop is a place where classic flavors like Vanilla Bean and Chocolate live alongside the creative and exotic Cardamom and Balsamic Strawberry. Finally, the cozy atmosphere will make you want to stop by for a cone and hang a while.

From Skagit Valley's strawberries to Sequim's and Vashon Island's lavender, Molly Moon's is committed to using the best ingredients the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Furthermore, don't be fooled by the cute cups our gourmet treats are served in or the stylish design of our Wallingford shop; the dishes are 100% compostable and Seattle's newest favorite hang-out was built with sustainable materials.

Opening day at Molly Moon's is set for May 10, and like most artists she loves performing in front of a large audience; drop in... she looks forward to handing you a scoop.
